Avid Express 5.0.7 video editing suite Used by RTF students for video editing. The five Avid Xpress Suites are equipped with a Sony UVW-1800 Beta SP and a Panasonic AJD-455 DVCPro 25 VTR for digitizing. Using the Avid Meridian Break Out Box (BOB) for the I/O allows digitizing from 20:1 to uncompressed (1:1) composite, component, or SDI video. Balanced analogue and digital AES/EBU or SPDF are the options available for audio I/Os. Each room allows a minimum of an hour of uncompressed media with two rooms topping out at two plus hours. Once finished; a student can record their project to either Beta SP, DVCPro 25, or VHS to keep; or submit to festivals

Louis 119 John J. Louis Hall Room 119 is a state of the art screening room auditorium and lecture hall. Featuring Dolby 5.1 Pro Logic surround sound, Betacam SP, DVC Pro, VHS, ¾ inch tape, DVD, Laser Disc, and 16 millimeter film projection, this Auditorium is a favorite of Faculty and Students alike

TV Studio Directing class Students in the TV Studio Directing class rotate through all of the technical crew positions used in multi-camera studio production. Here, the floor director works with a camera operator to frame up a shot for a class project
Fisk 115 Lab Used by entry level RTF students with all the necessary applications required to learn all aspects of video and audio editing for broadcast and the WEB. With 21 workstations that include Final Cut Pro for video, Peak DV for audio, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash for WEB sites. Half the workstations have an AJD-230 DVCPro 25 VTR for digitizing in DV mode
Pro Tools Used for audio sweetening video and audio projects. Both of the ProTools Suites inJohn J. Louis Hall are set up to digitize from DAT, CD, audio cassette, or Beta SP. With the added ability to import and export a variety of audio formats along with video clips, makes workflow more efficient
