Louis Hall

Louis HallJohn J. Louis Hall is the home of most of the production, digital production and post-production facilities for the Department of Radio/Television/Film, including ImMix StrataSphere non-linear editing suites, Pro Tools Audio Editing Suites, 16mm Steenbeck film editing rooms, computer based audio mixing/sweetening rooms, a computer arts room, and the equipment library.

Louis Hall also houses The Barbara and Garry Marshall Studio Wing, which includes a large television studio and film sound stage, both with 180 degree cycloramas and full lighting grids. Louis Hall also houses the broadcast news facilities for the Medill School of Journalism.

Louis Hall is the home of production for Radio/Television/Film. The building houses most of the production facilities for the department. The building has equipment for checkout, multiple post-production suites, and two large studios.

  • 4 - DAT portable recorders
  • Numerous Mole Richardson and Lowell lighting packages, microphones, mixers, audio recorders, and audio support equipment.

Studios

The Barbara and Garry Marshall Studio Wing includes a large television studio and a film sound stage, both with 180 degree cycloramas and full lighting grids. The studio wing also houses a teaching control room and prop storage.
