Administration and Services
The SoC Administration provides support for research, teaching and learning, and outreach activities of faculty and students. Its operations are divided into areas of responsibility, each under the management of an associate or assistant dean or director. A directory provides contact information for the Dean's Office staff and a summary of their roles.
Dean Barbara J. O'Keefe provides leadership for the School and is the primary point of contact for academic affairs (including research) within the School and for education, government, foundation, and other individuals outside the School. The Dean's assistant, Ms. Kate Bolgrien, also serves as manager for the Dean's office.
Associate Dean Mimi White is the primary point of contact for graduate students. She is assisted by Ms. Carol Ackerberg.
Assistant Dean Susan Dun is the primary point of contact for undergraduate program issues, including advising and student affairs. She is assisted by Ms. Deborah Haracz.
Kate Neal, Director of Communications and External Programs, is the primary point of contact for alumni, or for information regarding continuing and professional education programs, internship programs, communications and other outreach activities.
Assistant Dean Gaye Markov is the primary point of contact for business and financial affairs. She is assisted by Ms. Sonia Watters.
Associate Dean for Finance and Administration Rick Morris serves as chief technology officer for the School; he is the primary point of contact for issues involving media or information technology and infrastructure and for lab or studio facilities outside the Frances Searle Building. The Media Services Group, headed by Mr. Tony Tolnai, is supervised by Rick Morris.
Associate Dean of Research Jane Rankin is the primary point of contact for proposal review. She identifies research funding opportunities, coordinates research education, and monitors compliance with regulations. Sheri Carsello is the Research Administrator for the School of Communication. She provides support for budget and budget justification preparation, clarification of proposal solicitations, and help with University forms and grant regulations.
Assistant Dean Dennis Glenn is the primary point of contact for online education and digital media production projects involving the School; he manages Distributed Learning Center in the Frances Searle Building.
Amy Kahn, Director of Development for the School of Communication, is the primary point of contact for those who have made or wish to make gifts to the School.
Tricia David, Manager of Events, is the primary point of contact for information about School-sponsored events.
